Passport Program
Passport partners provide tuition scholarships for students and families who cannot pay the full cost of education.
Approximately 60% of Daystar students receive partial tuition help.
Learning Excursions
One of Daystar's distinctions is the extensive use of Chicago's cultural, academic, business, government, health and natural resources as part of the curriculum. For a complete list click on learning excursions.

Music/Art
Daystar values the role that visual and performing arts play in the development of students. Students artwork and "drumming" has been recognized by area businesses and organizations as exceptional.

Mobile Learning Lab
The Mobile Learning Lab provides technological tools for students that are essential for living and working in the 21st century.
– Digital Projectors (6): $15,000 - IPods (6): $2,400
Software Technology Program
The Software Technology program supplies educational software to enhance grade specific curriculum. – Educational software: $4,000
Tutoring Program
YYC! (Yes, You Can!) is a tutoring program designed to provide students with additional direct instruction that they need to succeed.
– Salary and supplies for professional aide: $20,000
Physical Education
Daystar is committed to helping its students maintain good physical fitness. Your gift supply the physical education department with a set of equipment. – Physical Education Equipment: $10,000
Life Event Fund
The Life Event Fund sponsors a student's tuition for one month when a family is experiencing a catastrophic illness or unexpected financial challenges. – Life Event Tuition for one month: $1,000
Daystar Graduation Ceremony
Daystar celebrates the completion of the achievements of its eighth grade class with a graduation ceremony at the end of the school year.– Daystar Annual Graduation Ceremony: $3,000
Executive Functioning Program
The Executive Functioning program provides teacher training and follow-up, parent involvement and student coaching and learning materials.– Executive Functioning program: $2,500
