Extended Daycare provides a safe environment for those parents who need to drop off their child/children before school hours or pick up their child/children after school hours. This service is available for Daystar students for an hourly fee. Daystar does not have financial aid available for this program, but we can cooperate with parents who receive child care assistance from local or state organizations.

Extended Daycare is held in our Great Room (gymnasium) and is under the direction of a Daystar staff member. The program includes art activities, structured and free choice play, puzzles, games, homework time and a snack.

Morning Extended Day Care is available from 7:30 am until 8:00 am. There is no fee for this service.

Afternoon Extended Day Care is available on days when school is in session from 3:00-6:00 pm. every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and from 1:00-6:00 pm on Wednesdays. The program is available at $5.00 per hour per child for the first child and $3.00 per hour for each additional child. Periodic reports will be sent home to parents showing the use and the remaining deposit amount. Parents who are behind in their account may be assessed an additional fee. There is a $1.00 per minute charge for the time a child is at Daystar after 6:00 pm.

After School Adventures are elective enrichment classes available during 3 different sessions per school year and include, but are not limited to, sign language, karate, chess, and theatre workshop. Typically, classes are held after school for one hour once per week for nine weeks. Cost per class session varies.
